Research Equipment

Sungai Buloh is known throughout the world for its achievements in leprosy research. Its Research Unit, staffed by dedicated workers who made the achievements possible, was established in 1951 and the workers carried out research in a well-equipped laboratory. It was here that the world's first proven case of Secondary Dapsone Resistance was discovered in 1963. In 1976, the first proven case of Primary Dapsone Resistance was discovered here as well. This album shows the old laboratory equipment used by the staff of the Research Unit.
